We know that Apple’s iPad has been stealing eBook reader market share away from Amazon’s Kindle since August, according to a new study by ChangeWave. Between the beginning of August and November 8th, the Kindle lost 15 of the market, dropping down to 47 percent. Apple, meanwhile, rose 16 percent up to 32 percent of the market. Sony’s reader is in a distant third at five percent, with Barnes and Noble’s Nook on its tale at four percent.

More interesting tidbits from the study of Kindle Versus iPad:

  • 75 percent of iPad and 54 percent of Kindle owners are “very satisfied.”
  • 93 Percent of Kindle and 76 percent of iPad owners use their device to read books.
  • Users are five times more likely to read newspapers on the iPad than the Kindle.
  • Five percent of those surveyed are “very likely” to buy an eReader in the next 90 days.
  • Of those planning to buy one, 42 percent are likely to buy an iPad, with 33 percent likely to buy a Kindle.

Color E-Reader

Delta to ship 13.1-inch color e-reader in Q2 2010

Taiwnese Delta Electronics is developing a new 13.1-inch color e-Reader and planning for sending the e-Reader before the end of Q2 this year. Also have a black and white version that comes with a much smaller screen of 8.1 inches only.

Both Delta e-mail readers use the paper Bridestones technology and are enabled to play. The technology promises Bridestones color display and efficient electronic paper with a fast refresh rate. Delta’s products are the first group to use this technology. Delta is still looking for partners to brand and market their e-reader devices, so that Delta will become the contract manufacturer.

Delta also plans to market themselves, while at the same time they are looking for content providers in Taiwan. The Delta mail readers will be equipped with 3G or WiFi module dependent on the obligation.

Introducing, BeBook Neo e-reader

This is another e-book reader that just joined the crowd. It’s Neo Bebook e-Reader, which comes with a Wacom touch screen and Wi-Fi connectivity only. Not compatible with 3G as seen in other e-book readers.

The eReader Bebook Neo is able to present the e-retail book based on the location you blow in its user interface. You also get access to Wikipedia and Google applications in the mail reader, and a sketch pad application and the Neo supports several formats, including EPUB, PDF (Adobe DRM / non-DRM), and different formats TXT image.

The eReader Bebook Neo is powered by a Freescale processor, which the company says is 2.5 times faster than rivals. You get 512 MB of storage on board, an SD card slot for expansion with support for up to 16 GB, 3.5 mm headphone jack and USB connectivity. The battery is quite powerful, can last up to 7,000 page turns. It is now available for pre-order of £ 279.99 ($ 453), the general availability expected in February 2010.

Skiff, another electronic book reader that is trying to share a bite with the Amazon Kindle. It even took the title as the largest electronic book reader Amazon Kindle, the DX. With a screen size of 11.5 inches, definitely deserves to be crowned as the largest e-Book reader.

The E-book reader Skiff has a touch screen 11.5 inches with 1600 x 1200 resolution making it ideal for designing newspapers. The touch screen can be operated using a finger or a pencil. The Skiff has 4GB of onboard storage, with more than 3 GB reserved for content and is expandable via SD cards.

The Skiff has a headphone jack 3.5mm melodies. Content can be uploaded via the mini USB port or downloaded via WiFi. It will be mounted at Sprint, which also offers 3G connectivity to download content on the boat. Although many gadgets are sized down, but for an e-Book reader, the larger will be more comfortable for the users and easily show that traditional newspapers do.

It can be bent and the measures a quarter of an inch thick simple. It is coming to Sprint retail stores sometime this year, while the price is still unknown.
