BerrySki Blackberry app offers offline maps for North America and Europe

Skiers sometimes get lost en route to ski. Even equipped with a GPS-enabled gadget, but it is likely that no charges are online maps of GPS, which is expected to go skiing site that is outside network coverage of the device. However, the application BerrySki Blackberry works differently because it offers offline maps for North America and Europe (forthcoming). With BerrySki charged on your BlackBerry, you sure be able to go according to the planned route.

The BerrySki allows downloading GPS maps on your BlackBerry device for offline use. This is very useful when you go skiing sites, where you can not get any Internet connection. The software supports standard mapping features as pan / zoom to get a general idea of the resort. It has maps covering over 80 ski resorts in North America. Places such as lodging, restaurants, lockers, parking or skier drop-off areas are marked on the maps downloaded.

A Verizon-branded BlackBerry Essex 9650 version has been spotted in the wild

Remember that BlackBerry Essex without notice, first appeared in September? A Verizon branded version that has been detected in the wild, confirming that the largest airline in North America will launch sometime in the near future. According Salomondrin, the Essex 9650 could be released by Verizon in a month or so – maybe at the same time with the Plus Pre Palm, Motorola and LG Devour VS750.

The Essex is also known as BlackBerry Tour 2, which should be a successor of the Tour 9630, launched by both Verizon and Sprint this summer. Unlike the Tour 9630, the Essex / tour2 9650 has optical trackpad. Other than that, its features include Wi-Fi and it is likely that all other things that the original Tour. The 9650 Essex will probably be launched by Sprint as well, but no word yet on whether this can happen.

RIM is preparing to launch a successor to the popular BlackBerry Pearl 8100 / 8110 / 8120: Meet the BlackBerry Pearl 9100, BlackBerry codenamed BlackBerry Stratus and Striker. Like most new smartphones from RIM, the Pearl 9100 comes with an optical trackpad instead of a scroll wheel. It looks bright in general, and a SureType keyboard, which looks bigger than the 81xx models.

The BlackBerry Pearl 9100 also features 3G and a camera with LED flash, but other specifications are not known.
