A new type of battery is working by scientists at the University of Illinois, called Quantum Digital battery and is claimed to be able to charge extremely fast and capable of storing 10 times the energy of the best lithium-ion battery can store .
The digital quantum battery is still a concept, which has been proposed to enter into a structure that packages made from microscopic capacitor electrodes and each is separated by a gap of 10 nm.
Proximity is also the factor that determines the super fast loading time and also the energy storage capacity, allowing it to be 10 times the energy of today’s lithium-ion batteries.
A prototype of this set of Quantum Digital could be built in just one year. Scientists are now shopping for funding to support their research.
