Parrot has released a new RC Toy called the AR.Drone
Parrot has launched a new toy called AR.Drone RC, a quadricopter that can be controlled either by your iPhone or iPod via WiFi. The AR.DRONE is basically a R / C helicopter comes with four leaves, but what makes it interesting is that you can use the iPhone or iPod Touch to control it.
The iPhone or iPod touch features the integrated accelerator, how to detect the tip of the iPhone and maneuvering AR.Drone accordingly. The AR.Drone also equipped with a few cameras that let you see the path the AR.Drone’s happening in your iPhone. It also has a camera on the bottom that keeps track if its speed to help a flight home yet.
Parrot has launched the Redmine open platform API that developers can use to develop augmented reality games through iPhone or iPod Touch. AR.DroneRC The helicopter will be available for purchase sometime this year, although the price and availability are still unknown today. Watch the clip RC toy in action below.
