OLED technology has reached the stage where they can develop in a wallpaper-type chemical coating, which can then be printed on any surface to produce light. A company in Wales, Lomox, has a grant of £ 454,000 Carbon Trust organization, a UK government-supported body, to further develop flexible OLED wallpapers.
The Lomox OLED screen developed funds need to be supplied at low voltages of 3 to 5 volts only to produce a highly efficient lighting and could help reduce carbon emissions. These funds OLED screen have a high potential to replace existing light bulbs and lamps in your home or for use in consumer electronics.
Lomox believe their technology can play better in OLED technology, which has been stalled after years of development, due to high production costs. Lomex invention will be official sometime in 2012.
