Casio Exilim EX-H10HG, comes with an unusual feature called Hybrid GPS
Casio has made the Casio Exilim EX-H10HG digital camera that comes with an unusual feature called Hybrid GPS. The camera uses GPS technology to allow you to geotag your photos and tracks their location.
Apart from the usual GPS tracking, monitoring offers alternatives using the accelerometer to control your movements, and the labeling of images. This extra capacity allows the camera to track while covered, in the built environment, as you have entered a tunnel, where satellite signals do not arrive, which is one of the main problems faced by other GPS enabled cameras .
The accelerometer of the Casio also tracks how far you’ve traveled from the camera was able to receive satellite signals. The Casio Exilim EX-H10HG shows also some maps on the LCD screen, you can use to show where you are and draw a label where the photos were taken.
Anyway, the Casio Exilim EX-H10HG is just a prototype at the moment but should not be too far from now for Casio to put on the market.
