The human brain is too complex, the largest brain simulator built by IBM, led by a 147,456 processor supercomputer, can only reach the level of the brain of a cat. This simulator was developed brain through the center of IBM’s Almaden research. It consists of 1.6 billion neurons connected by virtual synapses 9 trillion, which is almost a cell at a simulation of the human visual cortex.
With all the mass components, over 150,000 gigabytes of memory and energy consumption of more than million watts, the simulator is as good as the brain of a cat. However, the achievement is much better than the smaller rat brain simulator that did two years ago.
To simulate the entire human cortex, need computing power that is 1,000 times faster than what we currently have achieved, but this can only be achieved in a decade.
