
RIM is preparing to launch a successor to the popular BlackBerry Pearl 8100 / 8110 / 8120: Meet the BlackBerry Pearl 9100, BlackBerry codenamed BlackBerry Stratus and Striker. Like most new smartphones from RIM, the Pearl 9100 comes with an optical trackpad instead of a scroll wheel. It looks bright in general, and a SureType keyboard, which looks bigger than the 81xx models.
The BlackBerry Pearl 9100 also features 3G and a camera with LED flash, but other specifications are not known.
No word yet on whether RIM plans to announce the BlackBerry Pearl 9100, but in the meantime, here’s a preview of short video of it:
