Currently, the only way to download an application onto your Blackberry App World is enter all the information in PayPal to your first to make sure you have enough to pay the application itself. What if you’re an avid user of Paypal? Or maybe it’s frustrating enough to have a step in the middle?
Jim Balsillie, RIM’s CEO, announced at the BlackBerry Developer Conference in 2010 that companies can only charge you every time you download an application outside World App. This allows spontaneous purchases and gets rid of the intermediary approach Paypal.
Also announced a new Blackberry Theme studio to offer more options in the Blackberry customizable user interface and an advertising service to help developers to integrate ads into their applications.
No word on whether the next year will see the transformation, but I hope to see it deployed to one or two companies at once instead of all at once.
